I finally got through to the website 3 hours after the scores apparently went live.

topik results black out

I guess I should happy I passed. But the fact that I barely passed level 4 really pisses me off. I finished writing early and thought I did well in that section. But a 54 percent? All my scores are good but that one sucks. It would be one thing if I knew what I did wrong, but I will NEVER know. That’s the worst part.

This has just ruined my whole day. What a disappointment. Maybe I’ll write a more positive post later when I get over myself.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on getting Topik 4. ^^ I know you will have good results.
Writing is the only section that we cannot estimate the exact results. I really hate the cloze tests in the writing part when we have to think up new words.

In the writing part of the new Topik exam, there are 2 cloze tests and two essays. I don’t know why they eliminate the multiple choices which help us raise our writing score. >”<

I really admire your reading score. ^^

Thanks! I wish they would at least tell you what you did wrong on the writing. I just did a practice test and got 8 of the first 10 correct. I’ve never struggled with the “form a sentence” problems, so I’m chalking most of the loss up to the essay and the fill in the blanks.

I do feel a little better though since I did so well in every other section. Thanks for the comment! My reading ability used to be trash so that score is SHOCKING!

When I do the Korean reading exercises, I use the techniques when I study English such as skimming, scanning and so on, but I still have difficulty in managing time of reading. I cannot have enough time to do all the reading Topik questions. I have to cheat by making use of listening time to do the reading tasks.

I used to be disgustingly terrible at reading. My score does not reflect how much I sucked at it 5 months ago. I studied it A LOT! So much that my head hurt and I literally couldn’t stand the sight of it anymore.

That’s the only reason my speed improved as much as it did.
