I would love to see my Topik 34회 results

First off, let me say I am typing this first sentence without even having seen my results. The reason for this is because despite being 3:03 pm here in South Korea, the Topik website is apparently overwhelmed with so many people logging in to see their score. I’ve been “checking” my score since like 9 am this morning. I wanted to see if there was some glitch in the system that accidentally made some score viewable before the allotted time.

I’ve checked 3 times today. So far, it hasn’t been possible.

So now I’ve managed to make it to the log-in area and I’ve typed in my name and password and it’s telling me it is being “encrypted” so the system is slow and to please wait a little while. I will say I am a bit disappointed by this wait as the website/server should be ready and equipped to handle such a large surge in traffic. Currently we are officially 8 minutes past the release and I have yet to actually see my score. I’m going to give it one more shot!

Now I can no longer log on to the site at all. It won’t display the page. It’s nearly 15 minutes past the release time. How utterly disappointing. They should just release the scores in waves rather than all at once. That, or get a better website and server. I am also wondering now if this is the only time this problem has occurred. I’ve not once seen anyone write about having trouble checking their scores. Everyone always made it seem so easy and hassle free. I’m going to bury my head in my Korean book and forget about it.

I guess I’ll check my score later.

I have take Topik three times, and whener the topik results come out, the Topik website is overwhelmed. I remember how nervous I was when I kept refreshing the browser to check my result.

Which level did you take those three times? I’m so shocked no one wrote a blog post about the website being overwhelmed. I literally had no idea it would happen for THREE hours. It makes sense that it would happen, but I didn’t go into thinking it would!

I took the beginner Topik test in April 2012 and got Topik 2.

Then I took the Intermediate Topik test in October 2012 and got Topik 3

Finally I took the Intermediate Topik test again in October 2013 and got Topik 4.

I tend to take Topik exam every year to check my language proficiency and improvements. In addition, the exam registration fee is extremely cheap in Vietnam. If you take 1 level, the fee is 250 000 VND(=12 000 won). If you take 2 levels (Beginner and Intermediate or Advanced and Intermediate), the fee is 400 000 VND(=19 000 won)

That is really cheap. I thought about taking it more often, but I couldn’t stand sitting there for 3 hours. It was so hard to me. Lol, I’m going to try to take it once more and hopefully get level 6.

However, taking them again does keep your level up and/or give you something to stay prepared for. After this experience, I think I’m going to just hold for the intermediate advanced!

I remember the first time I took Topik test and I had a headache due to the long 3 hours, but if you take Topik test often, you will get accustomed to it soon.

In the new Topik format, the topik II (intermediate-advanced) only lasts 180 minutes with listening, reading and writing. But writing 2 essays in 50 minutes may be a pain @@

That can be a pain. I’m actually worried so much more about the vocabulary than the actual grammar for writing. I can write using so much grammar but always get caught up words I simply don’t know. This is a huge reason I started doing class is in session. I simply neglect writing too much.

I suggest you write KOrean journals and get them checked by the natives to practice writing. Until now, I have written 150 entries and I think that my writing improves a lot.

I think I wrote like maybe 5 before the test? I don’t make too many mistakes, but up until a few weeks ago, I kept getting the particles wrong A LOT. But my new tutor helped me to better understand when to not use one versus the other. I think that I will have to focus more heavily on writing in order to bring my score up in the future.
